3D Print: Oculink Dock GPU Cage with PSU Holder

At the end of last year, I acquired a GPD Win Max 2 2023 Edition laptop in their Kickstarter program. It's a phenomenal little machiine, with more than enough CPU to power through my day-to-day tasks.

The Ryzen 7 7840U has an integrated Radeon 780M GPU that is adequate for gaming on the go, in low settings at FHD. But the laptop also features an Oculink SF-8211 port in the back for direct attachment of PCIe devices, allowing a full-sized desktop GPU to be attached to the laptop with one cable. This sounds like USB4/Thunderbolt, however the PCIe connection is completely native, giving you the full benefit of a 4x lane connection to a GPU, with Resizeable BAR and Above 4G Decoding enhancements.

I have a Radeon 6800XT 16GB card at home I use for gaming on my 4K TV and ultrawide workstation. Using an ATX PSU, and a couple pieces bought from AliExpress, I have a very convenient solution for docking and gaming, whilst also being able to take my computer anywhere I go.

The Oculin

Using AVIF for Digital SSTV: Much higher quality for the same file size!

Digital SSTV and JPEG 2000

Digital SSTV is an easy way to send digital images over the radio, using as little as 2.2kHz of audio bandwidth. One of the most popular programs to achieve this is EasyPAL.

EasyPAL is a closed-source application, written by the late VK4ESK, that uses an open-source implementation of Digital Radio Mondial, called WinDRM. It has very limited effective baud rate but features a lot of error correction and resiliency for multipath phase, atmospheric fade and generally poor SNR conditions. It features the ability to send arbitrary digital files, along with automatic image optimisation for sending digital images.

This makes EasyPAL invaluable for HF digital image transmission. Being able to send a digital image over large distances is definitely awesome.

However, it wasn't built with modern image compression techniques in mind. It was originally written back in a time when JPEG 2000 (JP2) was the newest image format for high compression rates. This

First Post of the Website

Hey there!

This website is now live. This is my personal website for posting some of my projects and such. I also have some plans to shoot some YouTube videos detailing some of my older computers, radio projects and other coding funs.

Here's a little FAQ (Not that anyone has asked anything yet)

Website FAQ:

  • Why does it look so bad?

The website hasn't been "designed" yet. A lot of the work has been writing the custom CMS solution I am running this website with. I also have some strict requirements:

    • Compatible with Internet Explorer 4 minimum. This is so people browsing on old operating systems have a good opportunity to access the website. This includes the backend, as much as possible
    • Compliant with gateio app
    • Should use as little client-side JS as possible. Preferably none.
    • Should be as fast as possible. RDS caching, page caching and CDN.
  • Why do you care about Internet Explorer??

    This is really the only
